Apply for a fishing license in the U.S. Virgin Islands!

Whether you are a USVI resident, visitor to our islands, charter boat operator, or tournament participant, you can apply for a recreational fishing license in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We currently offer four (4) types of recreational licenses:

Apply for this license if you are a resident or visitor going on a charter fishing trip, fishing on a privately owned vessel, or fishing from shore.

Recreational Fishing Charter/Vessel for Hire License Application

Apply for this license if you own a USVI-based charter fishing business or take paying customers on fishing trips aboard your vessel.

Private Recreational Vessel License Application

Apply for this license if you own a private vessel that you fish on by yourself or with friends, family, or other non-paying individuals (not for hire vessel).

Fishing Tournament License Application

Apply for this license to participate in recreational fishing tournaments in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

All recreational fishing licenses are free. After you fill out the form corresponding to the license you need, your license request will be processed immediately. To save and print the certificate that was generated, you must click on top right header, button labeled "LICENSE", you must be LOGIN to see and access "LICENSE" button. Be sure to keep the license with you during your fishing activities, whether you are fishing from the shoreline or on a vessel.

As a resident of the U.S. Virgin Islands (you have a valid USVI Driver’s License or other resident identification), your fishing license will be valid for a period of one year (365 days) from the date you submit your application.

As a visitor to the U.S. Virgin Islands, your recreational fishing license will be valid for a period of three (3) months (90 days) from the date you submit your application.
